   Bessie is one of our favorite weavers.  She is such a sweet lady that is always a pleasure to see.  She is pictured here with her daughter Julia.  At 82 she still cleans, spins, and cards her own wool.  The dyes will all be natural vegetal dyes, except for the reds that she uses.  The reds will usually be the old Indian dyes.  Bessie has been weaving since the age of 7 so she has a little bit of experience.  She learned how to weave from her grandmother.  Bessie will make the handspun Pictorial rugs, usually with goats, sheep, horses and cows.  Bessie has taught her daughters how to weave, Fannie, Julia and Joann.  These girls rugs are worth the time to check out.
