Name:  Helen G. Begay

Date of Birth  July 15th 1910

    Helen started weaving at the age of ten.  She learned the art from her grandmother.  The  most common rugs that she weaves are the Yei's and a few Chief Blankets.  Her rugs are a medium quality of weave, usually with hand spun wool.   The Yei rugs are characterized with a traditional pattern.  She has passed the art along to her daughter.
