These rugs are products of the weavers imaginations.  They can be anything from observations from their day to day lives to images from Navajo ceremonies.  Anything is possible with these rugs.  This style is not limited to any one area of the Navajo reservation, but they are most common in the north-central and north-western areas.  Pictorials are considered by many to be true expressions of the "Navajo Folk Art" and have a great following among collectors who do not have a desire for other types of Navajo weavings.
