Teec Nos Pos, or "Circle of Cottonwoods" in Navajo, is located on the north
side of the Carrizo Mountains, near the four corners area. The
weaving displays a strong Persian influence. This style of rug has
been around since the early 1900's. This rug is made with a broader
diversity of materials than any other rug type on the reservation.
Everything from handspun natural wool colors to brightly colored
commercial yarn is used in the making of these rugs. Most Teec Nos
Pos rugs are very well made and have a very intricate design. It is
this diversity of materials used in the making of the rugs as well as the
very intricate design work that gives the Teec Nos Pos rug such great
appeal to collectors.
